Temporal Design Workshop
Event Information
Description
The Temporal Design workshop will invite participants to think about time beyond dominant narratives of clock-time. With an increasing perception of acceleration and time squeeze conundrums, temporal design helps to reveal the multiple ways we think, experience, and construct time. Using performative methods, random word association, and interactive materials that help discuss various forms of temporality, this workshop will invite participants to create an image of the times we live in. The workshop is carried on from a series of Temporal Design workshops, which employed methods such as the Tempocards (2015) and the Memorial for misused Time (2017), and which contributed new interactive and embodied methods to understand time. Not only will this workshop hope to co-create innovative methods to talk about time, but it also allow people to re-imagine how time is used, spent, worked and interacted with over their pasts, presents, and futures.
