Event description

Description

The city is not just an agglomeration of built spaces and heterogeneous group of people, it is first and foremost the relations between them. It is within this social infrastructure that frictions, negotiations, and agreements occur. And here lies the energy which sustains the city as a living social system.

This workshop will bring you together as a temporary and unsolicited committee of citizens rescuing the temporary moments that make our cities liveable places.

You are asked to bring 5 JPEG images of urban interactions of any type and their corresponding captions (images can be owned by you or some other person or institution) and working against the clock your task is to create a publication that naviagates the barriers, challenges and unexpected consequences that you find yourself operating in. Working with and against the tools at your disposal you will have an active agency in intervening and modifying these images and text - the results pointing to the fragility of their nature and generating some exciting and unintended outcomes!

After the workshop, we will display our results in a pop-up exhibition that might disappear after we all leave and head back to interact with the city again.

Publish or Perish tool developed by Publishing Lab (Silvio Lorusso and Stef Kors) for DONE-Foto Colectania.
