🔍 Think of this event as an introduction to a range of river surveying activities. Depending on conditions potential activities include water quality checking, kick sampling, looking at water critters, citizen science surveying, and exploring wet woodlands!
Core activities include:
🚰 Water quality testing using Hanna checkers.
🌲Learn about the history of London's sewer system, particularly outfall sites, and the ecological make-up of the area.
🕵️We will be taking part in the nation-wide citizen science effort called the 'Big River Watch,' so whether it's your first time or not, join us!
📅 When: 1pm-3:30pm, Sunday 26th April

👟 Please bring wellies or sturdy shoes, if you have them, as some part of the event will be near water.
🚶There will be quite a bit of walking, bending, and standing.
Habitats & Heritage is undertaking a project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to restore the mausoleum of the mastermind behind the London sewer system, Sir Joseph Bazalgette. This event is part of the science outreach and education aspect of the wider project.
Under 18s to be supervised by adults.
