This workshop aims to provide Early Stage Researchers knowledge about Citizen Science, Open Science, and their exploitations

Program: This workshop is to develop a comprehension of how open data and software benefit us all. Also to create a general awareness about the possible toxical impacts of small plastic debris (NMPs), sources of contamination, filtration of NMPs from the environments and the detection technologies available for it.Some invited talks and lectures at the workshop: Introduction to concepts of citizen science. Speaker: Prof. Chris Elliott (QUB)Researching, engaging, and interacting with lay audiences. Speaker: Dr Christian Reynolds (Univ. of London)Citizen Science applied to food fraud: a case study. Speaker: Prof. Paul Brereton (QUB)From the Pandemic to the Pan: An example of a consumer study investigating food practices during COVID-19. Speaker: Dr Fiona Lavelle (QUB)What&#x27;s an isotope? Communicating science beyond the uni. Speaker: Ms Una Bradley (QUB)What is the issue with Open Science: an ECR explains to ECRs. Speaker: Kristian Maar (DTU)Why do funders care about Open Science?. Speaker: Mattias Bjornmalm (CESAER University Association &amp; ex MSCA Fellow) What is RRI and how does Open Science &amp; Citizen Science fit together?. Speaker: Cristina Luis &amp; Jonas Krebs. H2020 Horizon 2020 NewHoRRIzon In addition, the early-stage researchers working on the MONPLAS project (https://www.monplas.eu ) will provide you basic information and solutions to address the concerns in micro(nano)plastics pollution. You will also have opportunities to join the discussions and ask any questions about the emerging issues.
