BRINK FESTIVAL

The Argument Machine requires that the audience stand throughout. Please email brink.festival@cssd.ac.uk with any accessibility or sensory requirements at the time of your booking so accommodations can be made.

The Argument Machine is an improvised performative game, which seeks to ask questions about how we debate. Topics will be taken from the audience, then debated live in front of them. Will they find consensus? Should they even be debating? All opinions stated will not be their own.
 
Samuel Smithson is a performance maker/director/ writer. Currently, he is developing a new ‘Dialectical Practise.’ His work is always political, exploring class politics, the north/south divide or striking miners in the ’80s. As a writer, he has written one show ‘We’re All Dead,’ which was staged at the Brunel University London and has directed one large scale production of ‘Medea,’ at the same institution. He holds a BA 1st Class Hons in Theatre and Creative Writing. @samsmithson123
