About the day
Join The Woodland Trust Scotland for an overview of ancient woodland and rainforest restoration. We'll be meeting at 10am, starting with a presentation at the Beaver Centre before exploring the nearby rainforest woodland and returning to the centre for packed lunch and tea/coffee. The afternoon will be spent on a field exercise at an FLS Planted Ancient Woodland Site (PAWS).
No prior knowledge required.
Meeting place
We will be meeting at Argyll Beaver Centre (nearest postcode PA31 8SN). The What3Words for the exact locations is ///guidebook.hawks.fresh.
Parking
There is a limited amount of parking available at the Beaver Centre so please car share where possible.
What to bring
We will be going on a site visit to carry out a field exercise in the woods so please bring sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for the conditions and considering ticks (e.g. waterproofs, sun hat, sun cream, long sleeves). Walking will involve going off-path over rough ground and slopes. Please bring a packed lunch and refreshments with you.
Facilities
Tea and coffee will be available. The Beaver Centre has composting toilets.
