Hello!We’re buzz, the Manchester NHS Health & Wellbeing Service.Our aim is to help improve your health and wellbeing of people and communities in Manchester, to help individuals and families live fuller, healthier, happier and longer lives.If you have long term physical health condition and struggle to exercise then our Physical Activity Referral Service (PARS) might be able to help you increase your levels of activity in a safe and structured environment.Our Neighbourhood Health Workers are based in your local communities. They are offering training courses and workshops, supporting community groups and organising health events. This will help improve the health and wellbeing community.If you are working in Manchester, our Knowledge Service can help. We are a library and resource centre for people working in health and social care.

A new half-day course designed to raise awareness about sources of health information and how we can decide if it is any good.

Access to health information has never been greater. Professional opinions and health information leaflets are now accompanied by innovative apps and a variety of health related websites. 
Our access to a range of health information has developed, but what about the quality? 
The Better Information Programme is designed for health, social care and community organisations. It is a half-day course designed to raise awareness about the sources of health information and how we can decide if it is any good. 
At the end of the day, you will be: 

• Knowledgeable about the range of health information available. 
• Skilled in being able to spot poor quality or potentially harmful health information. 
• Aware of health information literacy and why it is important 
• Able to approach production of information in a systematic way 
• Confident in signposting to evidence-based sources 
The Better Information Programme is delivered by the buzz Health and Wellbeing Service in partnership with Manchester Health and Care Commissioning. 
As part of the course, you will receive a range of supporting materials which will help you to produce better information for your patients, service users and communities.
