Has it been a while since you hopped on a bike? Or maybe you're eager to cycle more but feel nervous about being on the road or dealing with a puncture? Is your bike collecting dust and in need of some TLC before you can ride again? If so, join Steel Valley Project for our free events designed to tackle some of these common cycling worries.
Trek Bicycles in Fox Valley will demonstrate basic bike maintenance in this “Learn to Fix” workshop. Bring your bike along to practice on or just watch and learn how to give your bike a basic check-up, and we'll help you to develop the skills to handle minor repairs and adjustments on the spot.

The Steel Valley Project is based in stocksbridge and has been delivering environmental, community and countryside projects in the area since 1988.

The organisation is a registered charity, working towards the following objectives:

  • Managing habitats for the benefit of wildlife, people, heritage and landscape
  • Encouraging access to open green space/wider countryside
  • Delivering environmental education interpretation to local schools & the wider population
  • Providing support, advice, training and supervision to volunteers, trainees and community groups in countryside/management/conservation skills by working on real local environmental projects

Undertaking a variety of projects with a range of partners, the charity works consistently to improve the local environment. Much of the work carried out is via their volunteer team, working on practical and community activities throughout the year.
