Join us for the Edinburgh film premiere of 'The Big Fat Fix'.
Professor Chris Oliver of the Physical Activity for Health Research Centre (PAHRC), University of Edinburgh will host Edinburgh graduate and award winning cardiologist, Dr Aseem Malhotra.
Described as an "inspiration" by Jamie Oliver British Cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra has become one of the most well-known health campaigners in the UK. He writes regularly in academic medical journals and print newspapers such as the Guardian and Daily Mail and is regularly seen on broadcast media in his campaign against sugar and highlighting the harms of too much medicine.
Dr Malhotra has been named alongside anti-obesity activists such as Michael Bloomberg and Michelle Obama and a few weeks ago he was featured in the New York Times on his documentary film "The Big Fat Fix" which in July premiered in British parliament. This year he was named in the Sunday Times newspaper as one of the most influential people in science in medicine in the UK in a list which included Professor Stephen Hawking.
Following an introduction on the work of PAHRC, Prof Oliver will hand over to Dr Malhotra who will introduce his brand new film produced by Donal O'Neill of 'Cereal Killers' fame.
