The Big Spring Camera Ramble
Join us for our first ever camera ramble photo walk!
The Big Spring Camera Ramble
It’s finally happening! Join us on our very first photo walk and what better time to have it than on the second day of spring! We’ll be following a circular route of scenic Catbells. The route is taken from THIS WAY’s Borrowdale map.
📍 Catbells Circular. Approx. 4 hr hiking time with around 450 m elevation gain. Grade: Easy to moderate. This route does involve two minor scrambles on the ascent.
📆 21 March 2026 @ 10 am
What to expect
The whole idea of the walk is to get people out and about taking photos and meeting like-minded people. If you’re like us, you probably follow a lot of photographers on social media that you’ve never met in person. The aim of the walk is to connect you with those people in real life and break the barrier of the screen.
The walk will begin at the start of Catbells and we’ll follow the path to the summit, then carry on and descend towards Manesty Woods, where we’ll walk alongside the edge of Derwentwater back to the starting point.
The walk will be easy going and there’ll be plenty of time to pause and take pictures.
Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. The weather can change rapidly, even on a sunny day, so please bring layers. I would advise bringing:
- A waterproof jacket
- A spare layer such as a jacket or hoodie
- Plenty of water and snacks
What is the £15 fee for?
This is for a goody bag and secures your place on the walk. This includes:
- A map of the route from THIS WAY Maps
- A Take It Easy Lab motel keyring and stickers
- Outdoor Camera Club stickers
- 20% off processing and developing at Take It Easy Lab
