Margareta Burrell will discuss her masters dissertation with practitioners Shirley Stump and Carol Bowden

Margareta Burrell will share findings from her Masters research dissertation. The focus of her study was to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Early Childhood Music practitioners (ECMPs) in Great Britain. It explored the ways in which ECMPs met challenges and developed strategies, as they responded and adapted to an ever-changing situation. The study also tried to establish which of the effects of the pandemic were likely to continue in post-pandemic times and if they were going to influence Early Childhood Music practice and the role of the music practitioner. She will be in conversation with two Early Childhood Music practitioners (ECMPs), Shirley Stump and Carol Bowden who will both tell us about their experience during covid pandemic time and what their practice looks like now. They will look into the practitioner’s toolkit -old tools, new tools, most useful tools....As we emerge from the pandemic, this session will be an opportunity to share how our practice is continuing to evolve. You will have a chance to ask questions and discuss your own situation in small groups and contribute to a forum where we share all together. A zoom link will be sent to you before the event.
