About this event

Music • Classical

The highlight of the Chopin Festival, the must attend Gala Concert will feature six highly acclaimed artists: Andrzej Wierciński, Julia Łozowska, Lucas Krupinski, Magdalena and Łukasz Filipczak, and Alicja Kojder. Three of these immensely talented musicians have been participants in the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, one is a wizard violinist, and all are set to delight those lucky enough to attend the Gala Concert.

In addition, all attendees will receive a free copy of the printed Gala Concert programme, which will feature three insightful essays by distinguished Chopinists:

  • Prof. Alan Walker, author of a brilliant biography of Chopin, writes about “The Death and Funeral of Fryderyk Chopin and its aftermath”
  • Dr. Aleksander Laskowski, press spokesperson for the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, writes about the Competition's history
  • Lady Rose Cholmondeley, President of the UK Chopin Society, writes on the subject of "Mysteries Surrounding Fryderyk Chopin"

2025 marks the year of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition and this year's Chopin Festival includes a number of links with this outstanding Competition: three of our artists having taken part in the Competition; we are including an essay in the Gala Concert programme about the history of the Competition; and the Chopin Festival includes what promises to be a lively discussion between Lady Rose Cholmondeley (President of the UK Chopin Society) and Professor John Rink (a juror in the Competition) reflecting on this year’s Competition. We welcome those who are unable to attend this year's Competition in Warsaw to come and experience some of the musical magic with us in London.
