<h3>In a winter-dark Twickenham wood the UK’s butterfly and moth database is having its first dream - as imagined in a newly commissioned sound, light and spoken word installation, The Dataset’s Dream, created by artist Bryony Benge-Abbott and poet Thomas Sharp. </h3><h3>Developed in collaboration with scientists at the UK Centre for Ecology &amp; Hydrology, The Dataset’s Dream invites us to consider the importance of both cataloguing the natural world and of touching it with our imaginations. Seeded throughout the woods of Orleans House Gallery, a paint, light and spoken word installation gathers together illuminated glass caskets which are discovered while listening to a fifteen-minute spoken-word dream-scape narrative. </h3><h3>Created with scientists at the UK Centre for Ecology &amp; Hydrology, The Dataset&#x27;s Dream invites us to consider the importance of both cataloguing the natural world and of touching it with our imaginations. If data could talk, what message would it tell us during this time of declining populations of our beautiful native moth and butterfly species?</h3><h3> ﻿ </h3><p><strong>I﻿mportant event information:</strong></p><p>F﻿REE but booking  is requested. Sign in at the entrance to the woods opposite the Octagon Gallery at Orleans House.  The experience lasts 15 minutes. <strong>Audiences are requested to bring a personal mobile phone and headphones</strong> to access the audio experience. </p><p>The installation is an unguided tour of the woodland and recommended for audiences over 12 years old. Torches will be provided and volunteers will be on hand to assist.  </p><p>T﻿he Dataset’s Dream takes place alongside the Orleans House Gallery&#x27;s Winter Fair - a Christmas shopping weekend running 3 - 4 December. The Stables Gallery will be open every day from 9am - 4pm for delicious hot drinks, cakes and light meals.</p><p>#﻿thedatasetsdream🦋</p><p></p><p></p>
