ETZ Ltd is a private sector-led and not-for-profit company spearheading the Northeast of Scotland’s energy transition ambition. Supported by significant ongoing funding from both the Scottish and UK Governments, ETZ Ltd is repositioning the region as a globally recognised new and green energy cluster. ETZ Ltd continues to make significant progress on its dual areas of focus, both as a regional catalyst for energy transition and the delivery of the largest dedicated energy transition complex in Scotland, the Energy Transition Zone.

Isla will give an update on ETZ Ltd and the opportunities and challenges facing the offshore wind sector in the region and beyond. Chatting about how and why NE companies are ideally placed to play a significant part of this growing sector.

Steven Simpson, MD Safelift Offshore Ltd


Steven Simpson only joined Safelift Offshore Ltd in 2023 but already the company is reaping the rewards of his entrepreneurial flair. Aberdeen Entrepreneurs are delighted that Steven will be talking at our May event not only about his journey from being a potential “bowler” and embracing a variety of career changes all of which he feels lend themselves to his new role in this well established company.

Steven will share his career lessons with the audience as well as detailing what Safelift Offshore is all about and their new push towards renewables.

Safelift Offshore are celebrating their anniversary by investing £1million in a new fabrication factory.

Safelift Offshore Ltd was established in 1994 in Dyce by Peter Innes but now operates from Kemnay. The firm has grown to become a global market leader. Safelift works in designing, supplying and manufacturing manual handling as well as lifting equipment to the energy sector. The company employs a total of 36 employees between itself and sister division Safetrade, which focuses on onshore projects .

In addition to working across multiple sectors Safelift has established a global footprint, with a significant presence in the Middle East. The manual handling and lifting specialists currently works with around 35 clients in the region. The company are targeting further growth in 2025 with a number of large scale projects in the pipeline.
