The Evening Offer, 19.30-21.00Note there is a separate page for booking the <a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-offer-tickets-102024626404?ref=estw">daytime Offer</a>Art, Ecology, Emergency: Sustaining PracticeWednesday 17 June 2020, 11.00-12.30 and 19.30-21.00This two-part event will explore the intersections of artistic practice and ecology, bringing together artists, producers and academics to share their experiences and their research.Organised by Eden Project Ltd and the Environment and Sustainability Institute, University of ExeterThe Evening Offer, 19.30-21.00 This event will focus on artists’ practice and modes of engaging with ecological research. Questions explored will include: How can contemporary art practice open up social, ecological and geological perspectives on landscape and place? As artists making work in rural Cornwall, how do local geographies and communities inform and sustain your personal artistic practice? Can art play a role in helping us reflect on our individual relationships and responsibilities to nature? Host: Misha Curson: Senior Curator at the Eden Project Ltd and Eden Project International Ltd Speakers: Bram Thomas Arnold: artist, pedestrian, writer; Arts and Culture University of Exeter Creative Fellow 2019Sara Bowler: Artist and co-founder of the Goonhilly Village Green ProjectPlease note that all speakers and both hosts will be present and participating in both sessions. You are welcome to attend either or both parts, but must book separately for each.The Offer and The Evening Offer are a response to the context of Coronavirus and the devastating impact it has had on our society, and not least on the creative and cultural community. It is a space for anyone involved in or interested in a cultural response to the climate and ecological emergency to gather, to question, to share, and to support each other. They will be happening every Wednesday, initially from April-June. The Offer at 11am for conversation-based sessions and The Evening Offer at 7.30pm for creative and regenerative sessions. If anyone is interested in making an offer and leading a session please do get in touch at culturedeclares@gmail.com or via our social media.
