About this event

Pause, reflect & plan

The Freelance Ritual is a regular, dedicated time for freelancers to come together, pause, reflect and set your intentions for the week ahead.

It sounds simple, but this powerful act of giving yourself permission to slow down, see your patterns, challenges and successes, will enable you to gain perspective and make the changes you need.

Think of it as a self-care ritual for your work life, where you take the time to think about the things you have achieved, using this to motivate your next steps. Rather than living in the stress of the problems you’re yet to solve.

Your time, your workshop

Catherine, a qualified personal development coach, will guide you at the perfect pace through a mix of reflective and conversation based exercises. Your focus will be on you and your business, so you'll come out of each workshop feeling energised, clear on your next steps, and empowered to take action.

Being part of this small group of freelancers, means there are plenty of opportunities to share and learn from each other too.

In the 90 minutes you will:

  • Disconnect from your day-to-day
  • Reflect over your week
  • Pay attention to your achievements
  • Clarify your up-coming challenges
  • Prepare for the week ahead

Who are we?

This is a collaborative project between career coach Catherine and designer Adam, combining our different but complementary skill sets, and shared passion for helping others through the creation of high-quality and accessible services.

Catherine has honed her abilities through years of coaching (People At Heart Coaching), from active listening and nurturing conversations that lead to greater awareness and insights in the minds of her clients. Adam is an experienced designer and design thinker - developing workshops and creating learning experiences that guide and challenge his clients to reach new ideas and solutions.

We met in 2020, when Adam needed help creating an online course to support job seekers during the pandemic, as part of his Walthamstow-based social enterprise, The Monday Morning Club. Catherine was looking for a small project to use her brain during her maternity leave. Since then, we have kept the conversation going, sharing the challenges we face personally as freelancers and coming up with ideas for ways to support other self-employed and self-motivated people.

Organized by

Hi, I’m Catherine! I’ve been a career coach for the last 5 years. Before that, I used to work in HR and Talent Management. I decided to change careers to become independent and choose how to achieve my purpose of helping others grow. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of clients from various backgrounds and at different stages in their life and career, supporting them with their personal development, career growth and life design. I love sharing what I’ve learned from my own career and my clients' experiences with others. Facilitating workshops is something I really enjoy as I find that collective and collaborative thinking really enables you to think deeper and create empowering action plans!
