'Blockbuster’ exhibitions have been a staple of art museums and galleries for decades. Join us Thursday, 22 October, 7-8:30pm, for an online discussion on the future of the blockbuster, and what changes lie ahead post-pandemic.
In this forum, panellists will consider what they might expect, or welcome, for future large-scale exhibitions. Whether they think that the current Covid-related limitations – and the demands for greater focus on social justice and concern for the environment – require a reconsideration of institutional purpose, financial models, and audience needs.
This online event is the first in a series of discussions about issues facing curators, art museums and galleries.
The event is FREE and open to all. It will take place live, but will be recorded and made available afterwards.
