Session 1 Where is God?: Presence


Exploring the different ways we and those we accompany can experience and connect with the presence of God and Christ.

Session 2 Where is God: Creation


Looking at creation spirituality, both how we encounter God in creation and our responsibility to creation.

Session 3 Where is God: Absence


Reflecting on the experiences of absence of God both for us and those we accompany, suffering, illness, spiritual boredom and darkness, doubt.

About this event

This event is open to Spiritual Directors, Directees and those who, more informally, support others as prayer accompaniers. Tickets are £40. There are three sessions outlined in the Agenda below.

As well as the talks the day will include plenty of quiet times for personal refection and prayer, suggestions for reflection and poetry will be offered will. There will be an optional opportunity for a plenary discussion.

Andrew de Smet is an Anglican Priest, counsellor/psychotherapist, spiritual director and mediator. In April he retires from his role as York Diocesan Pastoral Care Adviser. Previously he has worked in parishes and run a retreat centre. Andrew enjoys painting, the natural world and writing icons.
