Present Regina Coeli K108, Conductor: Alan Gough, MBE

presents:
Regina Coeli K108 - W A Mozart

Cantata 190 (New Year Cantata) - J S Bach

Maria Theresa Mass - Haydn

Nicki Kennedy Soprano

Alexandra Gibson Contralto

Nicholas Hurndall Smith Tenor

Andrew Rupp Bass

The Mozart Regina Coeli is a wonderful showcase for our guest soprano Nicki Kennedy. A mixture of technical brilliance and expressiveness with jubilant choruses mixed in.

Bach Cantata 190, written as a New Year cantata, shows Bach in a truly festive mood. The opening chorus is full of celebration and musical fireworks followed by beautiful arias for the soloists.

The masses by Haydn written for chorus, soloists and orchestra are some of his most special and well-loved works. The Maria Theresa Mass gives us the master at his best. The work is full of uplifting contrasts.

The Guernsey Bach Choir and Orchestra are joined in this performance with a welcome return of four gifted professional guest soloists who have delighted audiences both locally and worldwide with their exceptional talents.
