The future has started; we’ve got faster technology transformation, work with more people from diverse cultures, even robots, and experience regular revolutions in ways of working. This means we have to learn more, learn faster and repeat the process more often.

Increasingly, self-directed and self-determined learning play a part in maintaining and driving performance but it’s not good enough to provide content and expect people to muddle along and learn on the job. We need learners to use the best methods based on neuroscience and psychology to make the most of what’s available. They need to distinguish between how to learn skills versus acquiring knowledge. They need to learn and unlearn to keep up with accelerating change. They need the skills of meta-learning – learning how to learn – before we waste any more time, energy or resources on ineffective methods, many of which date back to before the industrial revolution.

In this session, we’ll identify how the skills of learning will equip your people to thrive, rather than survive, in the future.
