Joseph Sefton, hand weaver and retired mill worker, reminisces on his life at Quarry Bank Mill and the times and changes he has seen. From the founding of the mill through technological changes, and from the lives of the apprentice children to the events of Peterloo, The Mill Ballads tells the story of the cotton revolution through song and performance. Combining music, theatre and social history, The Mill Ballads is a collaboration between folk band Trebuchet and the actor Stephen Howe.

Bring Your Own DrinksPlease note that there will be no bar at this event. You are most welcome to bring your own drinks (and drinking vessels); alternatively the Robin Hood pub is less than 5 minutes walk away for pre- and post-show drinks.ParkingPlease park on Smithy Lane (behind the Robin Hood pub), or at the public car park on Round Meadow. Either will give you a walk of about 100-150 metres to the Rainow Institute. Stocks Lane itself is extremely narrow, and we would advise against parking on the main road. The best drop-off point is at the Robin Hood pub.
