Why are only people of the Asian diaspora invited?

Accepted Answer

This is an affinity space to allow people to feel safe enough to speak about these multi-layered and sensitive issues, and to deepen the conversation so that many of our experiences do not have to be explained for the sake of a general audience.

Question 2

I thought the Model Minority myth wasn't true. Aren't you just reinforcing the stereotype?

Accepted Answer

True or not, there's no denying that the myth has had a huge impact on Asian Americans. Rather than ignore that fact, I suggest we explore its meaning, functions, and origins, all of which can lead us back to ourselves and toward living fuller lives.

Is it just for therapists and healers?

Accepted Answer

No. Although this is acting as a preview for my group offering for therapists and healers that takes a deeper dive into these topics, this is a completely FREE, no obligation standalone event intended to introduce my work to a wider audience.

Why are you offering this?

Accepted Answer

I want to empower people of the Asian diaspora with a wider lens for understanding how they are viewed, how they have internalized others' projections, and the riches that lie in the gaps that oversimplified narratives obscure. I want people of the Asian diaspora to know that healing is possible.
