Free photography sessions for curious minds & open hearts
What if photography could connect us - not just document us?
Open Kamera CIC invites you to join The Open Lens Project, a 3-month series of weekly workshops using analogue photography to explore heritage, home, food, identity and belonging.
Born from our own migrant journey, this project celebrates the cultural diversity of Plymouth by offering a space to connect, reflect, and tell stories through the analogue processes.
In each weekly session, you’ll explore:
- The basics of analogue photography + traditional darkroom techniques
- Stories of heritage and family
- Plymouth through photo walks
- Food & culture as conversation starters
- Representation, self-expression & reclaiming visual narratives
- New ways of connecting with people through shared creative experiences
- Opportunities to practise speaking and listening in English through relaxed, creative conversation
Perfect for:
- Beginners and curious creatives
- People who want to analogue photography
- Anyone seeking to reconnect with their creative side
- Those learning English who want a practical and friendly setting to practise
- People new to the UK or to Plymouth, looking to meet others
What you’ll gain:
- A sense of connection and community
- New creative skills and confidence
