NEXT EXCURSION: Musselburgh Lagoons

Escape the busy-ness of the city in the festival, and join us for a relaxed stroll at this incredible site of interest, renowned for its amazing bird life.

Enjoy relaxed chat with like-minded freelancers and small business folks. We'll be walking for around 1.5 hours, so you'll want comfy footwear, and be prepared for all weathers!

🥪☕ BYO snacks and drinks as there are no cafes on route

🚽 There are no loos on the route

🚌 Bus options, bike parking, and parking available

🥾 Easy route - flat paths, suitable for all who can walk 5km comfortably

💚 This event's walk leaders will be Lezanne and Cara

🐾 Dogs on the lead are welcome, but must be well controlled to protect the bird life

We'll be in touch about car sharing before the event on our community WhatsApp group, and will do our best to coordinate, although we cannot guarantee that we will be able to line this up.

What is The Outsiders?

The Outsiders is a friendly bunch of freelancers, flexi-workers and small business owners for some fresh air, relaxed chat, and enjoy Edinburgh's incredible varied landscapes.

Will I be able to do the walk?

We aim to ensure the walks are as accessible as possible and will do our best to indicate where they might be more challenging. If you have any questions at all about the route you can contact Katie who will be happy to help.

🥾: Easy route - flat paths, suitable for all who can walk 5km comfortably

🥾🥾: Medium route: paths with some hills or uneven surfaces, still suitable to most, but not if you have any underlying injury or condition.

🥾🥾🥾: Hard route: challenging route that will be suitable for those who are confident walkers.

We do our very best to create safe and enjoyable outdoor community events, however, The Outsiders do not take responsibility for accidents or injuries. By attending, participants acknowledge that they do so at their own risk. While we make every effort to select safe and accessible routes, it is each participant’s responsibility to ensure they are physically able to take part, dress appropriately for Scotland’s changeable weather, come with their own food and drinks, and wear suitable footwear.

We also ask that everyone who attends these events do so in the spirit of the group. We have devised a Community Code of Collaboration which outlines these expectations.
