With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka and the Brothers Grimm, The Pillowman centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of child murders. The result is an urgent work of theatrical bravura and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art.
Age Rating: 16+ Content Warning: Strong, derogatory, and offensive language, ableist language, racist language, sexual abuse, disturbing themes, references to child abuse and murder, depictions of mental illness, violence, torture and the use of firearms.

Licensed Bar
The licensed bar will be open from 6:30pm for evenings and 1:30pm for a matinee, where we ask all audience members to please wait until the house is opened. One of our Team will announce the opening of the house at approximately 15 minutes before the show start time, at which point audience members will be invited to make their way down to the Theatre to find their seats.
Parking & Accessibility:
Parking is free, please use IP33 3RL in your sat nav with access to the College via Out Risbygate. Please Park in the Car Park on your right as you drive in, where the barrier will already be raised. Access to the Theatre for our show nights is via Suffolk House, where you will see illuminated signs for ‘Conservatoire EAST’.
There are disabled parking spaces available in the car park at the front of Suffolk House, with a ramp for wheelchair users to access the building.
Conservatoire EAST is the Performing and Production Arts Department, within West Suffolk College Sixth Form. Students are aged 16 - 19 and are studying either a 1-year Level 2 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts, or a 2-year Level 3 Extended Diploma, specialising in Acting for Stage & Screen, Musical Theatre or Backstage Theatre Arts.
