The Procurement Bill sets out the new procurement rules that Government are intending to apply to how contracting authorities select and pay for public services.

While the Bill includes some positive changes to procurement rules, it doesn't go far enough to address many of the challenges that charities and social enterprises face when it comes to commissioning and procurement - and which can have a detrimental impact on the services available locally.

There is still a chance to strengthen the Bill as it passes through Parliament. In January, it will be discussed in the House of Commons. That means MPs will have the opportunity to raise concerns with the Bill and suggest amendments.

As charities and social enterprises that will be impacted by the new procurement rules, you are well placed to speak to your MP ahead of discussions in Parliament. You can demonstrate why these rules matter: because they impact on what services are available locally; and because they shape the challenges that you face when it comes to commissioning and procurement.

This session will provide:

an overview of the key areas in the Bill that need reform
an overview of why it's important for charities to speak to their MPs about the Bill
an overview of resources you can use to help your discussions with your MP
