Event description

Description

This colloquium will focus on the multifaceted aspects of propaganda in the creation of religious and political power in the Late Antique world. Perspectives from archaeology and architectural studies, literary and political history all contribute to understanding landscapes of power and persuasion which shaped everyday life and cultural practices as well as sparking moments of tumult and transformation. A series of morning papers by senior scholars will discuss the many faces power wore, from Sasanian Iran to the Iberian peninsula. In the afternoon, shorter presentations by PhD students will provide an opportunity for them to debate and discuss their approaches.
