The Real New Year is a one-day outdoor gathering to celebrate the true beginning of the year — as recognised by nature and many ancient cultures — when light returns, the earth stirs, and life begins again.

This is not a festival to watch.
It’s a gathering to take part in.

Across the day, we come together to move, release, plant intentions, share moments of surprise and connection, and celebrate the turning of the year through simple, joyful rituals. Expect warmth, laughter, stillness, music, fire, nature, and a feeling of belonging.

There will be:

• communal moments that unfold unexpectedly
• grounding and playful rituals rooted in new beginnings
• planting, intention-setting, sound, movement and fire
• nourishing food, conscious stalls, and open green space
• a sunset fire ceremony to mark the threshold into the new cycle

Nothing is forced. Nothing is performative.
You are free to wander, join in, rest, dance, observe, or connect in your own way.

The Real New Year is about remembering that beginnings don’t happen in January — they happen when the earth is ready, and when we choose to begin together.
