The Human Rights Law Centre is delighted to invite you to our upcoming Annual Human Rights Lecture on 'The Right to Food and the Global Order'. This year we are excited to be joined by Professor Michael Fakhri, UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food and Professor of Law at the University of Oregon.
This event will take place on Tuesday, 27 January 2026 at 17:30 (GMT) in Highfield House, Room A01. The event will be streamed so that viewers can join us online*.
The lecture will be followed by a Q&A/discussion and a Drinks Reception.

Michael Fakhri is the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food. At the University of Oregon, he is a professor of law where he leads the Food Sovereignty Project. Fakhri authored the book “Sugar and the Making of International Trade Law” and co-edited two other books "Bandung, Global History, and International Law” and "Research Handbook on Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL)”.
