About this event

The Rock House is Carousel's regular Brighton gig, featuring loads of excellent bands, some who have learning disabilities and some who don’t.

This June we return to Green Door Store for another raucous night of incredible music.

Lineup:

The Daniel Wakeford Experience

& more to be announced!

Set up to offer opportunities for learning disabled musicians to perform, The Rock House has grown greatly over the last ten years. We now host a monthly residency at a leading music venue in Brighton and an annual all-day festival with both learning disabled and non-learning disabled artists.

We have showcased many acts over the years from across the UK and Europe and our plans for The Rock House continue to develop alongside the ambitions of these artists, as we look to share The Rock House way of working and support the development of other events and festivals around the UK.

“I would happily recommend The Rock House to any music lover or regular gig goer based purely on the strength of the performances, material and atmosphere.” - Arts Council England Assessor

Carousel is an award-winning charity supporting learning disabled people to achieve their artistic ambitions. We believe that learning disabled artists make a vital contribution to the world we live in; they are central to decision making and delivery of the work produced.

Developing the creative skills of individuals and groups, in long and short-term projects, enables our artists to become leaders in their field and gain recognition for their work.
