The Ruisi Quartet Plus One Music Recital
Mon 8 May 2017, 19:30 – 21:30 BST
As part of the successful Friends of Fulham Palace recital series, the Ruisi Quartet Plus One (violist, Jenny Lewisohn) will perform in the Great Hall at Fulham Palace on Monday 8 May at 7.30pm for an evening of inspiring musical pleasure.
The recital will feature the following pieces:
Haydn - String Quartet Op.9 No.4 in D minor
Mozart - String Quintet No.3 in C major K.515
Dvořák - String Quintet Op.97 in E flat major
Travelling through 125 years of musical history, you will hear the first quartet written by Haydn in a minor key, his friend Mozart's gorgeously inventive string quintet, followed by Dvořák's love-song to his Bohemian homeland, joyfully inspired by his new American surroundings.
Winners of the Royal Philharmonic Society award for Young British String Players and YCAT Finalists, the Ruisi Quartet has quickly established a reputation as one of the leading British quartets of its generation, delivering performances that are “strikingly immediate, committed and direct” (Chichester Observer, 2014). The quartet consists of Alessandro Ruisi - violin 1, Oliver Cave - violin 2, Luba Tunnicliffe – viola and Max Ruisi - 'cello. For this performance they will be joined by Jenny Lewisohn who will add the unique sonority of an additional viola.
Tickets (including booking fee) are £22.50 pp for Friends of Fulham Palace and £25.00 pp for non-Friends. Places are limited, so early booking is strongly advised. Doors/Bar open from 7pm; concert starts at 7.30pm.
