This included 14 years in Local Government, 4 years with the NSPCC, and 11 years with the NHS where I concluded my public sector career as a senior leader for the Post Graduate Medical Deanery in the East Midlands. For many people life is complicated. It’s become more about fitting in and following the rules. We have lost contact with our inner self and our authenticity has been dimmed.
We are under attack from a culture that tells us what we should do, what we should think and who we should be. Our lives are focused on dealing with ‘should’.
Life is hard when we try to be what everyone else believes we should be. How we can we possibly meet the requirements and demands of everyone else?
The answer is….we can’t, and yet we keep trying. The continual effort of trying to fit in, to please everyone else is exhausting. We lose connection with the simple joy of life itself.
This book offers a different perspective. You can be you. Every day you can reconnect with your authentic self. The opportunity to learn how to be yourself is ever present.
