The South & East Lincolnshire Cultural Conference

An all-day conference to celebrate, inform, inspire and share how Lincolnshire is making great things happen when culture and the arts meets heritage.

Join us on Wednesday 22nd May at Blackfriars Theatre, Boston, for an all-day conference bringing together arts and heritage from across Lincolnshire.

The Conference is being held thanks to the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership's National Portfolio Organisation status funding, with just under £2m awarded by Arts Council England for 2023-26, to support arts, culture, heritage and creativity across Boston, East Lindsey and South Holland. Attendees will hear about the next steps and events planned for this programme, from each district. The project focuses on The Guildhall in Boston, Ayscoughfee Hall in South Holland and the Colonnade in Sutton on Sea becoming Creative Hub sites for the area.

The theme of 2024’s conference is using culture and the arts to ignite heritage stories. The day will be full of inspirational speakers, including updates on the NPO project being delivered by the South & East Lincolnshire Partnership, Transported and Magna Vitae and a keynote speaker sharing how they have been involved in a project that has transformed a place by using creative ways to bring its heritage to life. Breakout sessions will be held throughout the day including workshops and talks on cultural audits, access to funding, project planning, youth engagement and digital story telling.

As well as the project announcements and networking opportunities, the conference will provide an opportunity for people to share their ideas and ambitions for local culture and heritage, and a marketplace will also be open for any organisations or individuals wishing to have a stand to promote their work.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

This event is being held thanks to funding from Arts Council England.
