Business Innovation Seminar

About this event

Innovation is the successful development and introduction of new ideas which help your business to improve efficiency, reach new markets, increase revenue, develop new products, or achieve a competitive advantage.

This seminar is designed for established SMEs with ambitious growth plans that want to embrace innovation in developing new or improved products, processes or services. The seminar will help you grow your business through innovation by:

  • Exploring the benefits and opportunities that innovation can deliver to the business
  • Learning how to create an innovation culture within the business
  • Using examples from other SMEs and hearing from local businesses about their innovation journey
  • Helping you understand what local and national support is available
  • Helping you discover funding available for innovation
  • Connecting you with innovation experts

You will hear from:

Helen Floyd, SparkFund Grants Manager - the SparkFund is an innovation support and grants programme that works with business owners and leaders in North Yorkshire to identify, define and deliver innovation and research projects which fit their individual needs, aspirations and plans. They help every step of the way, from shaping and framing the idea, applying for funding and to deliver the project.

Andy Taylor, Innovate UK EDGE (Yorkshire & Humber) - a publicly-funded service to empower innovative businesses to grow and achieve their goals. They will give you access to the resources to deliver, from investor networks to IP expertise and international partnerships.

Rob Woollin, Leeds City Region Supply Chain Programme Advisor – dedicated business support programme supporting the growth and expansion of SMEs and associated services in the manufacturing sector across the Leeds City Region (including Craven District). The programme offers access to wide variety of academic knowledge through the University of Huddersfield, including Supply Chain Management, Productivity, Precision Engineering and Technology Innovation.

Attendees to the seminar will also have the opportunity to book one of a limited number of one-to-one sessions with experts from the Spark Fund, Innovate UK EDGE and the Supply Chain Programme to discuss your idea and how to turn it into reality. Please let us know when you book your place at the seminar whether you would also like to book a one-to-one session.

Am I eligible to attend this seminar?

This seminar is being provided through the Langcliffe Quarry Enterprise Centre project which provides enterprises within Craven District with access to the space and support that will enable them to create new job opportunities, improve performance and raise productivity. This masterclass is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Craven District Council.

Booking is essential as places are limited to ensure maximum learning and benefit for each participant. Priority will be given to trading businesses located in Craven District and whose business model is based on business-to-business activity.

Please be advised that while the seminar is free of charge, we will ask you to fill in a registration form and feedback form.
