Meet in the Booths Car Park in Tarleton at 7pm. Please note parking at Booths is for shoppers with a maximum of 2 hours stay with ANPR. The walk will take approximately 2 hours.
A Transport Revolution: From canal transport to railways . The focus of the walk will be the enigmatic Tarleton branch line which was linked with the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. You will walk the track bed to locate railway archaeology and visit the canal interchange at Tarleton.
We do not charge for the walk but donations are welcome, at the end of the walk, to support the work of Preston Historical Society. Please note participants join the walk at their own risk .
We suggest comfortable walking shoes or boots.
David has a wealth of knowledge about Preston's transport heritage and the many ways in which the city contributed to British transport history.
