Overview

Lucinda Dalton presents Adam Taylor & Fabio Almeida

This exhibition is a meeting of two artists from different domains but unified by time. This collaborative exhibition invites the viewer to explore the nuanced interplay between time and place as seen through Adam Taylor and Fabio Almeida’s artistic endeavours.

Adam Taylor is a British contemporary artist. His paintings are abstract, minimalist compositions depicting dreamlike worlds. Working predominantly in oils and using a limited palette, he often plays with the use of grids to divide his work and create discord. He trained and obtained his degree in Fine Art in 2004 at Cardiff School of Art. In 2022, Adam was selected by the artist Sean Scully to exhibit alongside him at a group show in London.

Fabio Almeida was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil and settled in the UK in the early 1990's where he studied painting at the City Lit Institute and Communication Art & Design at the Royal College of Arts in London. His recent work draws on the legacy of the Modernist movement so prevalent in his native South America during the immediate post war period. The aesthetics and vision of architects and designers such as Oscar Niemeyer, Lina Bo Bardi, Roberto Burle Marx to name a few, form the building blocks of Almeida's visual language. His work is laced with a layer of realism and current preoccupations of present day, especially those related to life in large urban areas.

Lucinda Dalton Gallery was founded with the aim of promoting fresh and exciting works from a carefully curated selection of contemporary artists, combined with first class client service. Working with an exceptionally talented group of established and emerging artists, the gallery is able to offer clients unique works of art of contrasting and complementary styles across a wide range of mediums.
