The Treecreepers Birdwatching Group

A monthly birdwatching and nature group for people aged 18-35.

April Session #1

This Treecreepers session will be in Holyrood Park where we will see what we can spot at Duddingston Loch around Jock Tamson's Gairden before walking up onto Queen's Road and around Dunsapie Loch. We will then loop down through the woodland, community orchard and garden.

Every experience level welcome! The session structure and flow will be shaped by everyone to facillitate knowledge sharing and community. This group is for people aged 18-35 only.

We will meet outside Duddingston Kirk Hall at 1pm. What3Words location: ///camps.spell.mint

Wear appropriate clothes and footwear for the weather forecast. If you have binoculars, ID books or anything else you think you may want, please do bring along. There is a public toilet near the start of the walk by Dr Neil's Garden and The Garden Room Cafe which should be open if people need to purchase refreshments.

Pricing:

I am just one person running and organising this group so, in order for this to be sustainable long term for me, I charge a small fee per session. This covers my time with any excess income reinvested in the group. Pricing is as follows:

• Supporter Rate: £8. For those who have more than enough to comfortably meet their needs and non-essentials. This will help make the sessions accessible to others and supports my work.
• Standard Rate: £5. For those who can cover their needs with some extra for non-essentials.
• Accessible Rate: £3. For those who struggle to afford anything beyond basic necessities(e.g. on benefits or unemployed).

No questions asked, choose what works for you. Your presence matters most!

Want to pay in Cash?

Eventbrite adds a service fee to all tickets. To avoid this extra cost I am happy to take cash in person at the beginning of the session. Please email thetreecreepers@outlook.com to register for a space in advance.

**If you are emailing to book, your initial email must contain your first and last name and the rate you want to pay to ensure your place.**

Refund Policy

Eventbrite: If you pay via Eventbrite and cancel before the refund period of 2 days (48 hours) you will receive an automatic refund. If you cancel after the refund period you will only receive a refund if I am able to resell the ticket to someone else. No refund includes fees paid to Eventbrite.

Cash: If you agree to pay via cash and cancel before the refund period of 2 days (48 hours) you will not be required to pay. If you cancel after the refund period and I am able to resell your ticket to someone else, you will not be required to pay. If I am not able to resell your ticket then I will email you an invoice to pay which may require you to pay fees. An invoice is a legally binding document.

Accessibility:

Due to the nature of Holyrood Park this walk will have uphill and downhill sections that can be steep and uneven. The walk will be a mix of paved and gravel paths, grass and unpaved tracks. I will endeavour to make our route, pace and distance accessible to all attendees where possible.

The bus numbers 4, 12, 44 and 253 stop within walking distance of the meeting point. There are bicycle racks at Duddingston Kirk Hall.
