About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Nathaniel Mander is an early keyboard performer known for his expressive, elegant and virtuosic style. He trained at the Royal Academy of Music with Carole Cerasi and is recognised as one of the leading keyboard artists of his generation. He has been particularly praised for his performances of the French repertoire and for the music of Mozart. His 2022 recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations received brilliant reviews across the board, and he was awarded the highest accolade by Dutch specialist classical music magazine, Luister. Nathaniel has performed across the world as both harpsichordist and fortepianist and alongside his poetic and passionate performances he always enjoys introducing the music that he plays in his own personal, light style.

Real virtuosity…can be a given these days, but what can differentiate performers is their ability to go beyond that and to reveal their own, and the composer’s, musicality…Nathaniel Mander is about as far from the irritating “look-at-me” antics of some performers as you can get…”

We are delighted to welcome Nathaniel back to the Old Chapel Court Concerts for a third time!

The Old Chapel Court Concerts, held at the Old Baptist Chapel in Tewkesbury, are a unique opportunity to listen in an intimate environment to music from the distant past, played on instruments of the time.

Come and enjoy the delights of Tewkesbury – half-timbered medieval houses sit side by side with Tudor buildings and Georgian fronts and the ancient Abbey, together with a host of cafés, independent shops and museums.

More information about the Old Baptist Chapel can be found on the John Moore Museum website.
