Event description
The Windlesham Pram Race is a fancy dress, charity event that sees runners complete a 3.5 mile course on Boxing Day

About this Event

The annual Windlesham Boxing Day Pram Race is a fancy dress, charity event that sees runners complete a 3.5 mile course through Windlesham village stopping at local pubs along the way. The whole purpose of the Pram Race is to raise money for charity (Charity Registration Number 1145317) and the Committee is delighted to have been able to distribute over £9,000 to a wide range of local good causes in 2019. The event starts at Highams Hall, formerly the home of BOC and Linde (which has been renamed Kamkorp Park) on the Chertsey Road and finishes at The Windlesham Club & Theatre, Kennel Lane, where the prizes are awarded. On route racers will visit The Brickmakers Arms, The Surrey Cricketers, The Sun, The Half Moon and The Bee pubs. For more information go to www.pramrace.com

Important Information for those entering. This is a family event and not a drinking competition so NO alcohol can be carried in prams, either at the start or during the race. We urge ALL racers to enjoy running the race and drink responsibly so that everyone else can enjoy the day too. Please arrange to take your pram home and dispose of it safely as there will be no facilities for prams to be left at the end of the race.

The organisers, the village pubs and the police have reached agreement that this year ALL the pubs and the Club will stop serving at 15:30 on Pram Race day. Our aim is to encourage the crowd of spectators that remain after the race has finished, and the roads are opened, to disperse more quickly.

Online entry costs are £8.50 for each adult (over 18 years) and £5.00 for each child (under 18 years). In addition, for each entrant, a registration fee (£0.49 + 6.5% of the entry cost +20% UK VAT charged on the fee) will be added to the final payment. Entry on the day costs £12.00 for each adult and £6.00 for each child plus any processing fee if required.
