*Please note that due to circumstances out of our control we have moved this event to the 14th January 2026.

Learning how to use a thermal imaging camera is a great way to engage your local community in energy efficiency. Thermal images reveal exactly where homes are losing heat – e.g. gaps in floorboards, draughts around windows or poorly fitted loft hatches – helping residents see how small scall improvements can make homes warmer, cosier, and cheaper to run.

This workshop is designed for community group members across Oxfordshire who want to run their own thermal imaging projects this winter.

At the workshop, you will:

  • Learn how to use the thermal imaging camera, with practical demonstrations on buildings nearby
  • Understand how to interpret the images and communicate findings effectively
  • See a demonstration of air tightness testing.
  • Learn how to plan and run a community thermal imaging campaign
  • Find out what funding is available to help households install energy saving measures.

As the weather turns cooler, people start noticing draughts, leaks, and damp, making it the perfect time to highlight simple ways to make homes more energy efficient. Running a thermal imaging project can help raise awareness and inspire action on home energy use and carbon reduction in your community.
