This is Your Home!
Overview

Explore and create your own story of home and belonging through writing, colour, or any creative form you choose.

“This is your home” event is exploration of stories of home and belonging through writing, colour, or any creative form you choose. Our facilitators will guide you through storytelling basics and support you in expressing what “home” means to you – whether in Glasgow, elsewhere on this planet, or beyond. 😊

Before joining, take a moment to reflect: where is your home, or where might your homes be? No English proficiency or prior creative experience is required. Everyone is welcome – especially those who feel untalented. Being “at home” is about participation, sharing, and creativity. Just bring yourself, your languages, and your ideas; we’ll provide food and artistic materials.

After the workshop, you can optionally join our international CIVIS Open Lab team (Glasgow, Madrid, Johannesburg) for a presentation of our e-book on the topic Home as Story, Stories of Home (2026). You will hear from project participants as they share their experiences, highlighting the value of collaboration and creative exchange.

The full agenda is below.

If you liked our workshop, and want to continue exploring the idea of home, please consider participating in Our Threaded Stories workshop, which takes place on Friday, 19 June.
