Sauchiehall Street: Culture and Heritage District is a bold 10-year plan to renew Sauchiehall Street. We work with local partners, organisations and artists to programme heritage events and activities which explore Sauchiehall Street's multi-layered history and  invite people into the conversation about it's future.

Join The Alexander "Greek" Thomson society for an introductory talk on Alexander's architectural work and legacy on Thursday 15 January.

Alexander "Greek" Thomson was a Scottish architect and architectural theorist, and pioneer in sustainable building practices. Less well known globally than his peer, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Alexander's legacy is rooted in Glasgow and is still admired today. Alexander and his partners designed more than 150 buildings across Glasgow and the west of Scotland, including Holmwood House, Great Western Terrace, Moray Place, St Vincent Street Church, Grecian Chambers (now the CCA building in Sauchiehall Street) as well as warehouses, offices, hotels, terraces and tenements. Many may have been lost over time, but much remain.
