THREAD Project: Co-Creation Workshop on Personal Data Visualisation

THREAD Project: Co-Creation Workshop on Personal Data Visualisation

Overview

Track your data? Help design creative ways to visualise it beyond screens in this interactive co-creation workshop.

How do you visualise the data you collect about yourself?

Many of us track personal data every day; steps, workouts, sleep, habits, hobbies, or wellbeing. But most of this information stays hidden on our phones or apps.

In this interactive co-creation workshop, we’ll explore how personal data could be visualised in more meaningful and creative ways, especially within everyday spaces like the home.

You’ll work alongside researchers and other participants to reflect on the data you collect, how private it feels, and how it could be represented visually in ways that matter to you.

No design or creative experience is required; just curiosity and a willingness to share ideas.

What You’ll Do

During this hands-on session, you’ll take part in three collaborative activities:

1. Explore Your Personal Data
Reflect on the types of data you collect and why they matter to you.

2. Sketch Visual Concepts
Create simple sketches to explore different ways your data could be visualised.

3. Build a 3D Prototype
Use clay to model a physical representation of your data visualisation ideas.

The workshop is designed to be creative, informal, and collaborative.
