Threaded Within: Self-Tying & Somatic Rope Flow
This is a gentle, beginner-friendly introduction to self-tying and somatic rope flow. This non-sexual, partner-free workshop.
An Introduction to Self-Tying & Somatic Rope Flow is a three-hour, beginner-friendly workshop designed for those curious about rope as an embodied, grounding practice.
This workshop is solo-focused only — there is no partner work, no suspension, and no sexual framing. You’ll be invited to slow down and explore how rope feels on your own body through guided somatic awareness, simple self-ties, and a gentle rope flow inspired by traditional ichinawa movement.
The emphasis is not on perfect knots or aesthetics, but on listening to your body, pacing yourself, and allowing rope to become a conversation with sensation, breath, and presence.
🪢 What We’ll Explore
- Safe, accessible ways to handle and work with rope on yourself
- Feeling rope on the body through touch, wrapping, pressure, and release
- Simple self-ties using flat wraps and non-restrictive techniques
- A gentle, flowing solo rope practice inspired by ichinawa
- Noticing your body’s signals around comfort, activation, and edges
- Building trust with rope through awareness rather than force
You are always welcome to pause, observe, or remove rope at any time.
🌙 What You May Take With You
Participants will leave with:
- A felt sense of how rope lives on their body
- Increased confidence working with rope independently
- A foundational understanding of self-consent, pacing, and choice in rope
- Practical tools to continue exploring rope safely on their own
