Throwing on the wheel

One-to-one throwing session. Learn the basics of throwing a cup and bowl on the potter's wheel with guidance from Jo.

This fun session offers a taster of throwing on the potter's wheel. It is tailored for any level of experience including absolute beginners! Learn how to prepare and centre clay before shaping it into a cup or bowl shape.

I also offer a 2.5 hour shared session for 2 people at £110. Each person can choose one of their pots at the end to be fired and glazed. For more info please email: info.jowoffinden@gmail.com

Throwing on the wheel is a very calming and meditative process blending creativity with relaxation. This session is process-driven, focusing on techniques and clay-working methods that support the development of new skills and the refinement of existing ones.

For those with previous experience working with clay, the session will be customised to your skill level and focus on helping you progress further and gain practical knowledge you can apply to future work.

You will choose one of your creations at the end of the session to be fired and glazed with a clear gloss glaze which will be ready to collect 4 weeks after the session.

Please bring your own hand towel and an apron to protect your clothes. All other materials and tools are provided.
