Tinkerbot Workshop with Mark from Gizmobots

All Saints Church, RuncornRuncorn, England
Saturday, Mar 7, 2026 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Overview

Come along, get hands-on, and celebrate sustainable creativity in Runcorn!

As part of the Hazlehurst Studios Small Sustainability Festival, we’re excited to host a hands-on Tinkerbot Workshop with Mark from Gizmobots 🤖

This energetic, creative session invites young people to design and build their own simple robot sculpture using reclaimed materials and basic tools. It’s all about problem-solving, imagination and getting stuck in.

The session begins with guided instruction from Mark on how to construct the core structure. Once everyone has their base built, the real fun begins — adding all the brilliant, quirky finishing touches to bring each robot to life.

Working with tools and learning practical making skills can build confidence, encourage independent thinking and spark curiosity about how things are put together.

Session details:
📅 7 March
🕥 10.30am–12.30pm
👥 Maximum 10 young people (small group to ensure plenty of support)

No previous experience needed. If young people are accompanied by an adult with basic DIY confidence, that’s very welcome too.

Spaces are limited, so booking is essential. Come along and get tinkering!

This workshop is funded by the Zero Waste Community Fund and delivered in partnership by Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority and Veolia, making it free for participants to attend.
