About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Co-production was at the heart of the Ageing Better Programme, it underpinned everything that we tried and tested, and we know from our experience over 7 years of design and delivery that despite different challenges it really works. We were able to demonstrate that involving people and “working with them” to create services that serve the needs of our communities is not only the right thing but the most beneficial thing to do.

Creating and embedding a co-production culture does however take time, and often it’s difficult to know where to start or how to make it part of your day-to-day approach rather than something separate that feels out of reach due to lack of time, resource, a constant juggling of priorities and misunderstanding around the aims and benefits.

To make co-production truly effective and relatable we must lay solid foundations first so that we can share what that means with everyone who needs to know. The important core aspects of a strong co-production culture will be explored:

· Articulating a strong involvement vision

· Defining a clear ethos and starting where you are at

· Communicating through a common language

· Engaging the right people

· Testing, learning and adapting

Following on from our 'Creating a Co-production Culture' 1 hour webinar, during which we define what a co-production culture might look like in practice and share a range of useful resources from the Stronger Together Co-production Toolkit, this 2-hour practical and interactive workshop goes deeper.

This session provides you with the opportunity to design your own co-production culture framework that will enable you to map out and articulate what a meaningful co-production approach needs to look like for your organisation, people, and community settings.
