Overview
TELL ME A TALE is a course for any person who is interested in developing their skills in telling stories live
This includes but is not limited to :
- Actors
- Poets
- Performers (Singers, Rappers, Dancers etc.)
- Orators (Public Speakers, Managers, Youth Mentors, Preachers etc.)
- Anyone interested in storytelling or performing!
Storytellers will work with Olivier nominated director and theatremaker , Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu and a number of special guests, will lead you through 8 fun, energetic and revelatory sessions that will teach you how to use energy, intention, comprehension and imagination to become a better storyteller.
This session
This final session in the Tell Me A Tale Course is an opportunity for participants to bring in a piece or an idea and try it out in a fun , supportive and creative environment of like minded indivduals!
Particpants will be split into Storymakers and Storytellers. Storymakers can be any particpant with an idea or piece they would like to try and Storytellers will be mainly the performers playing around with the piece. Together we will use each piece as a case study to develop each others skills in storytelling.
NOTE: Storymakers will be asked to submit a piece or an idea that is a that is maximum length of 5 minutes. This piece should either be a story or contain a moment where a story is being told directly to another character or the audience.
This could be the time to bring first ideas or troubleshooting a section of a piece!

Storytellers can either drop in to one session or do all 8 for a discount! By the end of each workshop, you will be able to utilise and recall core storytelling skills that can be adapted to whatever walk of life you need.
In addition, you will be lead in a safe, supportive and spirited space where you will connect with like-minded people & grow! You can be a professional or enthusiast, all are welcome and all will develop.

About Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu
Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu is an award-winning Theatremaker with 10 years’ experience in creating theatre works for the British Stage. He has worked with spaces such as The Young Vic, National Theatre, Bush Theatre and am associate artists of The Gate Theatre and Brixton House.
In 2019, Tristan won the JMK Award for the revival of Little Baby Jesus by Arinze Kene. In 2022, he won the award for Best Director (alongside Ryan Calais-Cameron) at the Black British Theatre Awards and was nominated for an OIivier for Best Production & Best Supporting Cast for the West End hit " For Black Boys by Ryan Calais Cameron." His casts have won The Stage Debut Awards twice (2019 and 2022) and was nominated for Most Promising Playwright at the Offies in 2018.
Tristan has worked with performers such as Sheyi Cole (BBC's Small Axe), Selina Jones (HBO's Raised by Wolves), Seraphina Beh (Netflix's Top Boy and Working Title's Polite Society) Severine Howell-Meri (Amazon Prime's Hannah) the award winning original cast of For Black Boys in the West End and for rapper Stormzy's Merky Label with Adidas. Tristan has taught storytelling at institutions such as Guildhall School of Music & Drama, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art , Creative Hounslow and The Hetrick Martin Institute in New York.
