The Tolpuddle Martyrs' Festival is a weekend of family entertainment, stalls, political debate, comedy, music and a grand procession through the village.It's a brilliant day out, celebrating the seven farm labourers transported to Australia in 1834 for, in effect, forming a trade union - and, for the first time, Equity President Maureen Beattie will be laying a wreath there on behalf of Equity.“We raise the watchword, liberty. We will, we will, we will be free!"
