About this event

  • Event lasts 8 hours 30 minutes

This training course is designed for Team leader and Team members who wish to instruct on our purpose built Tomahawk range at Thornthwaite. The course will cover an introduction to the activity, the set up of the range, safety checks of all equipment, how to throw tomahawks and small hawks (angels), and emergency procedures.

By the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to take an assessment before being signed off with your own qualification - qualifications last three years.

The course is open to anyone over 18 who is a member of the Scout Association. You don't need any previous experience or equipment, as we will provide everything you need. The course is free.

Don't miss this chance to learn a new skill, have fun, and make a difference in your Scout group.

(There is also the expectation that once you hold a Tomahawk Qualification, you will join the pool of instructors who offer this as an activity at Thornthwaite - the more instructors we have, the less demanding it becomes!)

What to Bring
